TL;DR
This paper employs a semi-classical model to calculate the mutual neutralization cross section for helium and hydrogen ions at low energies, providing theoretical insights into ion collision processes.
Contribution
It introduces a semi-classical approach considering nine covalent states to study mutual neutralization in helium and hydrogen ion collisions, focusing on energies below 100 eV.
Findings
Computed cross sections align with previous results
Model simplifies interactions by considering two states at a time
Provides theoretical data for low-energy ion collision analysis
Abstract
A Semi-classical model is employed to theoretically study mutual neutralization in the collisions of and . The model includes nine covalent states of symmetry. Here the assumption is that only two states are interacting at a given internuclear position. The reaction is studied for collisions energies below 100 . The total mutual neutralisation cross section is computed and compared with previous results
