TL;DR
This paper presents a NuSTAR X-ray survey of the UDS field, cataloging 67 sources, analyzing their properties, and estimating the fraction of Compton-thick AGN, which informs models of cosmic X-ray background.
Contribution
It provides the first detailed NuSTAR survey in the UDS field, including a source catalog and the measurement of the Compton-thick AGN fraction at intermediate redshifts.
Findings
67 sources detected in the survey
Median redshift of sources is ~1.1
Observed Compton-thick fraction is approximately 11.5%
Abstract
We present the results and the source catalog of the NuSTAR survey in the UKIDSS Ultra Deep Survey (UDS) field, bridging the gap in depth and area between NuSTAR's ECDFS and COSMOS surveys. The survey covers a deg area of the field for a total observing time of 1.75 Ms, to a half-area depth of 155 ks corrected for vignetting at keV, and reaching sensitivity limits at half-area in the full ( keV), soft ( keV) and hard ( keV) bands of erg cm s, erg cm s, and erg cm s, respectively. A total of 67 sources are detected in at least one of the three bands, 56 of which have a robust optical redshift with a median of . Through a broadband ( keV) spectral analysis of the whole sample combined with the…
