TL;DR
This paper reports a search for the rare decay $ ext{Lambda}_c^+ o p\, extmu^+ extmu^-$ using LHCb data, setting upper limits on its branching fraction and observing a first-time signal in the $ extomega$ mass region.
Contribution
The study provides the first observation of a signal in the $ extomega$ dimuon mass region and sets new upper limits on the decay's branching fraction.
Findings
No significant signal outside resonance regions.
First observation of a signal in the $ extomega$ mass region.
Upper limits on the branching fraction are established.
Abstract
A search for the flavor-changing neutral-current decay is reported using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of collected by the LHCb collaboration. No significant signal is observed outside of the dimuon mass regions around the and resonances and an upper limit is placed on the branching fraction of confidence level. A significant signal is observed in the dimuon mass region for the first time.
