Search for the X(5568) state decaying into $\mathrm{B}^{0}_{\mathrm{s}}\pi^{\pm}$ in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = $ 8 TeV
CMS Collaboration

TL;DR
This study searches for the X(5568) exotic state decaying into B_s^0 pi^± in proton-proton collisions at 8 TeV but finds no significant evidence, setting upper limits on its production rate.
Contribution
First search for the X(5568) state in B_s^0 pi^± channel at 8 TeV with CMS, establishing upper limits and constraining its possible existence.
Findings
No significant peaks observed in the B_s^0 pi^± invariant mass spectrum.
Upper limits set on the production rate of the X(5568) state.
Constraints provided on the mass and width of potential exotic states.
Abstract
A search for resonance-like structures in the invariant mass spectrum is performed using proton-proton collision data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC at 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb. The mesons are reconstructed in the decay chain , with and . The invariant mass distribution shows no statistically significant peaks for different selection requirements on the reconstructed and candidates. Upper limits are set on the relative production rates of the X(5568) and states times the branching fraction of the…
