de Sitter geodesics in stereographic charts
Ion I. Cotaescu

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that stereographic coordinates on de Sitter spacetime introduce artificial singularities in timelike geodesic equations, which are not physically meaningful.
Contribution
It reveals the presence of non-physical singularities caused by stereographic coordinates in de Sitter geodesic equations.
Findings
Stereographic coordinates induce artificial singularities in geodesic equations.
These singularities are not physically motivated.
The study clarifies coordinate-dependent artifacts in de Sitter spacetime.
Abstract
It is shown that the stereographic coordinates on the -dimensional de Sitter spacetime induce, in the parametric equations of all the timelike geodesics, artificial singularities which do not have any physical motivation.
