Secondary dips and the asymptotics
S.M. Troshin, N.E. Tyurin

TL;DR
This paper discusses how to experimentally identify the energy range where asymptotic behavior appears in hadron scattering by analyzing secondary dips in the differential cross-section within the impact parameter framework.
Contribution
It establishes a method to relate secondary dips in elastic scattering to the onset of asymptotic regimes in proton-proton interactions.
Findings
Secondary dips indicate the beginning of asymptotic behavior.
Differential characteristics can be used to detect asymptotics.
Impact parameter picture provides a framework for analysis.
Abstract
We point out how to detect experimentally the energy region where asymptotics starts to manifest itself in hadron scattering relating appearance of the secondary dips in the differential cross-section of elastic scattering with beginning of the asymptotic energy region. The consideration relies on the differential characteristics. The framework of the impact parameter picture of proton--proton interactions is being used.
