TL;DR
This paper derives exact solutions for Cho-Maison magnetic monopoles within effective electroweak models that have a BPS limit, establishing a universal lower mass bound around 2.37 TeV.
Contribution
It provides the first exact solutions for monopoles in these models and demonstrates a universal lower mass bound independent of the BPS condition.
Findings
Lower bound to monopole mass is approximately 2.37 TeV.
Exact solutions are obtained in a family of effective electroweak models.
The mass bound is argued to be universal, beyond BPS models.
Abstract
We present exact solutions to Cho-Maison magnetic monopole in a family of effective electroweak models that have a Bogomol'nyi-Prasad-Sommerfield (BPS) limit. We find that the lower bound to the mass of the magnetic monopole is . We argue that this bound holds universally, not just in theories with a BPS limit.
