Wenbin Lv, Shaohua Wu

TL;DR
This paper investigates a free boundary problem in a nonlinear, nonautonomous size-structured population model, establishing solution existence using comparison principles and upper-lower solution methods.
Contribution
It introduces a novel approach to prove the existence of solutions for a complex free boundary problem in size-structured populations.
Findings
Existence of solutions established for the free boundary problem.
Application of comparison principle and upper-lower solution methods.
Framework applicable to similar nonlinear nonautonomous models.
Abstract
In this paper, we study a free boundary problem for a class of nonlinear nonautonomous size structured population model. Using the comparison principle and upper lower solution methods, we establish the existence of the solution for such kind of a model.
