A brief introduction to sofic entropy theory
Lewis Bowen

TL;DR
This paper provides a concise overview of sofic entropy theory, extending classical entropy concepts to actions of sofic groups, a broad class of non-amenable groups, and offers guidance to relevant literature.
Contribution
It introduces the foundational ideas of sofic entropy theory and serves as a guide to existing literature on the topic.
Findings
Sofic entropy generalizes classical entropy to non-amenable groups.
Provides a comprehensive overview of the theory and its applications.
Serves as an accessible entry point for further research.
Abstract
Sofic entropy theory is a generalization of the classical Kolmogorov-Sinai entropy theory to actions of large class of non-amenable groups called sofic groups. This is a short introduction with a guide to the literature.
