Stefan Gieseke, Patrick Kirchgae{\ss}er, Simon Pl\"atzer

TL;DR
This paper introduces an extension to the Herwig Monte-Carlo generator's color reconnection model to better simulate baryon production, improving agreement with experimental data on multiplicities and hadron flavors in proton-proton collisions.
Contribution
The paper presents a novel extension to the Herwig model specifically for baryon production within cluster hadronization, enhancing its predictive accuracy.
Findings
Improved description of charged-particle multiplicities.
Enhanced modeling of hadron flavor observables.
Better agreement with experimental data in pp collisions.
Abstract
We present an extension to the colour reconnection model in the Monte-Carlo event generator Herwig to account for the production of baryons and compare it to a series of observables for soft physics. The new model is able to improve the description of charged-particle mutliplicities and hadron flavour observables in pp collisions
