A. M\'arquez Romero, J. Dobaczewski, A. Pastore

TL;DR
This paper investigates neutron-proton pairing correlations using the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov formalism with isospin mixing, comparing results with an exact $SO(8)$ algebra model to enhance understanding of nuclear pairing phenomena.
Contribution
It introduces a novel application of the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov method with isospin mixing to study neutron-proton pairing, validated against an exact algebraic model.
Findings
Good agreement between HFB calculations and the exact $SO(8)$ model.
Demonstrates the effectiveness of isocranking in including neutron-proton mixing.
Provides insights into the role of pairing correlations in nuclear structure.
Abstract
The long standing problem of neutron-proton pairing correlations is revisited by employing the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov formalism with neutron-proton mixing in both the particle-hole and particle-hole channels. We compare numerical calculations performed within this method with an exact pairing model based on the algebra. The neutron-proton mixing is included in our calculations by performing rotations in the isospin space using the isocranking technique.
