Measurement of b hadron lifetimes in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} =$ 8 TeV
CMS Collaboration

TL;DR
This paper reports precise measurements of the lifetimes of various b hadrons using CMS data at 8 TeV, providing results consistent with world averages and improving measurement accuracy.
Contribution
First comprehensive lifetime measurements of multiple b hadrons in pp collisions at 8 TeV with improved precision and consistency.
Findings
Measured B0 lifetime as 454.1 μm with high precision.
Determined B_s0 effective lifetimes in two decay modes.
Found Λ_b0 and B_c+ lifetimes consistent with previous results.
Abstract
Measurements are presented of the lifetimes of the B, B, , and B hadrons using the decay channels B J/K*(892), BJ/K, BJ/, BJ/(1020), J/, and BJ/. The data sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb, was collected by the CMS detector at the LHC in proton-proton collisions at 8 TeV. The B lifetime is measured to be 453.0 1.6 (stat) 1.8 (syst) m in J/K*(892) and 457.8 2.7 (stat) 2.8 (syst) m in J/K, which results in a combined measurement of 454.1 1.4 (stat) 1.7 (syst) m. The effective lifetime of the B…
