TL;DR
This paper reviews previous findings on inclusive pion asymmetries in polarized proton and antiproton collisions and discusses potential future experiments at U-70 to explore these asymmetries further.
Contribution
It highlights the need for comparative measurements of inclusive asymmetries using polarized protons and antiprotons at 16 GeV at U-70, proposing new experimental studies.
Findings
Previous experiments found significant asymmetries at large x_F and middle p_T.
Proton and antiproton collisions show opposite signs for pion asymmetries.
Future experiments can extend these studies at U-70 with polarized beams.
Abstract
The only comparative study of the inclusive pion single-spin asymmetries produced in the interactions of the polarized protons and antiprotons in collisions with unpolarized proton was carried out at E-704 experiment. Significant asymmetries were found at large and middle , and asymmetries have positive signs while has negative one in the collisions, while in the interactions the and asymmetries have positive signs while has negative sign. Similar experimental study can be done in the SPASCHARM experiment at U-70 accelerator at IHEP for various secondary particles with the use of 16 GeV polarized proton and antiproton beams.
