TL;DR
This paper investigates how third-order dispersion affects platicon dynamics, revealing their angular velocity dependence and proposing a method to tune their optical frequency comb repetition rate.
Contribution
It introduces a novel analysis of platicon behavior under third-order dispersion and proposes a new tuning method for the comb repetition rate.
Findings
Platicons acquire angular velocity influenced by third-order dispersion.
A method for tuning the optical frequency comb repetition rate is proposed.
The study links dispersion and detuning to platicon dynamics.
Abstract
Dynamics of platicons caused by the third-order dispersion is studied. It is shown that under the influence of the third-order dispersion platicons obtain angular velocity depending both on dispersion and on detuning value. A method of tuning of platicon associated optical frequency comb repetition rate is proposed.
