TL;DR
This paper measures the production cross-sections of $B^{\u00b1}$ mesons in proton-proton collisions at 7 and 13 TeV, providing experimental data that aligns with advanced QCD predictions.
Contribution
It presents the first precise measurements of $B^{b1}$ production cross-sections at these energies, including their ratio and differential distributions, validating theoretical models.
Findings
Cross-sections at 7 TeV: 43.0 μb
Cross-sections at 13 TeV: 86.6 μb
Cross-section ratio (13/7 TeV): 2.02
Abstract
The production of mesons is studied in collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 13 TeV, using decays and data samples corresponding to 1.0 fb and 0.3 fb, respectively. The production cross-sections summed over both charges and integrated over the transverse momentum range GeV/ and the rapidity range are measured to be where the first uncertainties are statistical, the second are systematic, and the third are due to the limited knowledge of the branching fraction. The ratio of the cross-section at 13 TeV to that at 7 TeV is determined to be…
