Double parton scattering theory overview
Markus Diehl, Jonathan R. Gaunt

TL;DR
This paper reviews the theoretical understanding of double hard scattering in proton-proton collisions, highlighting its complexity and interaction with other reaction mechanisms.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive overview of the current theoretical framework for double parton scattering and its interplay with other processes.
Findings
Double hard scattering involves complex dynamics.
Interplay with other reaction mechanisms is significant.
Theoretical models are reviewed and summarized.
Abstract
The dynamics of double hard scattering in proton-proton collisions is quite involved compared with the familiar case of single hard scattering. In this contribution, we review our theoretical understanding of double hard scattering and of its interplay with other reaction mechanisms.
