Solute transport within single pores post-pulse
Julie V. Stern, Thiruvallur R. Gowrishankar, James C. Weaver

TL;DR
This paper investigates the transport behavior within individual pores after a pulse, revealing active transport phenomena and proposing experimental methods to identify specific pore regions.
Contribution
It uncovers active transport in single pores post-pulse and introduces experimental design strategies based on model parameters.
Findings
Single pores show active transport (drift) shortly after pulse.
Passive diffusion is not the only transport mechanism observed.
Proposed experimental methods to locate specific pore regions.
Abstract
We present results of studying the post-pulse transport properties of single pores. Single pores exhibit active transport (drift), and not just passive transport (diffusion) at early post-pulse times. In addition, we suggest experimental design methods obtained from model parameters that would enable experimentalists to find localized regions of a few pores.
