TL;DR
This paper investigates conditions under which contact (+1/n)-surgery results in overtwisted contact structures, providing new results, counterexamples, and open problems in contact surgery theory.
Contribution
It introduces a new criterion for overtwistedness in contact (+1/n)-surgery and presents a counterexample to a conjecture by James Conway.
Findings
New criterion for overtwisted contact (+1/n)-surgery
Counterexample to Conway's conjecture
Open problems in contact surgery theory
Abstract
In this note, we obtain a new result concluding when contact (+1/n)-surgery is overtwisted. We give a counterexample to a conjecture by James Conway on overtwistedness of manifolds obtained by contact surgery. We list some problems related to the contact surgery.
