Adam Bzdak, Guo-Liang Ma

TL;DR
This paper calculates azimuthal cumulants from transverse momentum conservation, showing they can be significant even in large particle systems, impacting the understanding of collectivity in small systems.
Contribution
It provides a theoretical calculation of multi-particle azimuthal cumulants due to momentum conservation, highlighting their importance in small system collectivity studies.
Findings
$c_2\{k\}>0$ for all tested $k$
Cumulants can reach large values depending on transverse momenta
Results influence interpretations of collectivity in small systems
Abstract
We calculate the -particle () azimuthal cumulants resulting from the conservation of transverse momentum. We find that and depending on the transverse momenta, can reach substantial values even for a relatively large number of particles. The impact of our results on the understanding of the onset of collectivity in small systems is emphasized.
