Half-maximal consistent truncations using exceptional field theory
Emanuel Malek

TL;DR
This paper develops a method using exceptional field theory to perform consistent truncations of 10- and 11-dimensional supergravity to seven dimensions, enabling new reductions to heterotic double field theory.
Contribution
It introduces a novel approach for constructing half-maximal truncations and extends techniques to connect supergravity with heterotic double field theory.
Findings
Constructed half-maximal gauged supergravity in 7D from higher dimensions.
Demonstrated reduction of exceptional field theory to heterotic double field theory.
Provided a systematic framework for consistent truncations using exceptional field theory.
Abstract
We show how to construct half-maximal consistent truncations of 10- and 11-dimensional supergravity to seven dimensions using exceptional field theory. This procedure gives rise to a seven-dimensional half-maximal gauged supergravity coupled to vector multiplets, with in general. We also show how these techniques can be used to reduce exceptional field theory to heterotic double field theory.
