TL;DR
This paper updates predictions of photon-induced particle production using a mini-jet model with soft gluon resummation and applies it to simulate cosmic ray showers, comparing with other models.
Contribution
It introduces post-LHC updated estimates of photoproduction cross sections within a mini-jet framework incorporating infrared soft gluon resummation, applied to cosmic ray shower modeling.
Findings
Updated cross section estimates align with recent LHC data.
Model provides cosmic ray shower development predictions consistent with existing models.
Comparison highlights differences and similarities among various cosmic ray models.
Abstract
We present post-LHC updates of estimates of the total photo-production cross section in a mini-jet model with infrared soft gluon resummation, and apply the model to study Cosmic Ray shower development, comparing the results with those obtained from other existing models.
