TL;DR
This paper investigates the impact of high-energy resummation effects on the inclusive production of forward J/psi mesons and backward jets at the LHC, using different theoretical models to describe J/psi production.
Contribution
It introduces a new observable involving forward J/psi and backward jets to probe BFKL resummation effects at the LHC, comparing multiple production mechanisms.
Findings
Predictions vary significantly across models.
The observable is sensitive to high-energy resummation effects.
Different mechanisms yield distinct signatures in the production process.
Abstract
We propose and study the inclusive production of a forward and a very backward jet at the LHC as an observable to reveal high-energy resummation effects \`a la BFKL. Our different predictions are based on the various existing mechanisms to describe the production of the , namely, NRQCD singlet and octet contributions, and the color evaporation model.
