Bhoomika Maheshwari, Swati Garg, and Ashok Kumar Jain

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that the generalized seniority scheme effectively explains the B(E3) transition systematics in Sn isotopes, supported by Large Scale Shell Model calculations, revealing the octupole nature of 3- states.
Contribution
It is the first to show that the generalized seniority scheme explains B(E3) systematics in Sn isotopes, supported by shell model calculations.
Findings
Generalized seniority scheme explains B(E3) systematics.
Supports octupole character of 3- states.
Shell model calculations corroborate the interpretation.
Abstract
We show for the first time that the generalized seniority scheme explains reasonably well the systematics for the transitions in the Sn-isotopes, which are odd-tensor transitions connecting different seniority states (). Additionally, we also present Large Scale Shell Model (LSSM) calculations to support our interpretation. The generalized seniority scheme points to the octupole character of these states in Sn isotopes.
