TL;DR
This paper investigates the production of Upsilon mesons in ultra-peripheral PbPb collisions at the LHC, comparing different models and providing new predictions for incoherent cross sections, including excited states.
Contribution
It introduces the first predictions for incoherent Upsilon production, including excited states, using various dipole models within the light-cone color dipole formalism.
Findings
Differential cross sections for Upsilon states were calculated.
Systematic uncertainties in theoretical predictions were analyzed.
First predictions for incoherent excited state cross sections were presented.
Abstract
The exclusive photoproduction of states were calculated in ultra-peripheral collisions for coherent and incoherent process in PbPb at = 5.5 TeV. Different dipole models were compared in the theoretical framework of light-cone color dipole formalism. Moreover, it was calculated the differential cross section for the Upsilon states and their total cross section for two intervals of rapidity: 4 and y . A systematic study is done on the theoretical uncertainties associated to the production and predictions are presented for the first time for the incoherent cross section of the radially excited states.
