On Words with the Zero Palindromic Defect
Edita Pelantov\'a, \v{S}t\v{e}p\'an Starosta

TL;DR
This paper investigates finite words that are rich in palindromes, analyzing their properties and the conditions under which pairs of such words can coexist as factors within longer rich words.
Contribution
It provides a detailed description of pairs of rich words that cannot appear together in a longer rich word, advancing understanding of palindromic richness in finite words.
Findings
The set of rich words is factorial but not recurrent.
Certain pairs of rich words cannot occur together as factors.
The paper characterizes these incompatible pairs.
Abstract
We study the set of finite words with zero palindromic defect, i.e., words rich in palindromes. This set is factorial, but not recurrent. We focus on description of pairs of rich words which cannot occur simultaneously as factors of a longer rich word.
