Forbidden Channels and SIMP Dark Matter
Soo-Min Choi, Yoo-Jin Kang, Hyun Min Lee

TL;DR
This paper reviews dark matter production mechanisms, emphasizing forbidden channels and SIMP processes, and discusses conditions under which forbidden channels dominate depending on dark photon and dark Higgs masses.
Contribution
It introduces a comparative analysis of forbidden channels and SIMP processes in dark matter production, highlighting the dominance of forbidden channels under certain mass conditions.
Findings
Forbidden channels can dominate dark matter production.
The dominance depends on dark photon and dark Higgs masses.
The review clarifies the conditions favoring each mechanism.
Abstract
In this review, we focus on dark matter production from thermal freeze-out with forbidden channels and SIMP processes. We show that forbidden channels can be dominant to produce dark matter depending on the dark photon and / or dark Higgs mass compared to SIMP.
