Milena Piotrowska, Christian Reisinger, and Francesco Giacosa

TL;DR
This paper analyzes the decay properties of excited vector mesons using an effective relativistic QFT model, confirming quark-antiquark assignments and predicting a new $ ext{phi}(1930)$ resonance with specific decay channels for future experimental searches.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive decay analysis of excited vector mesons and predicts a new $ ext{phi}(1930)$ state, supporting the quark-antiquark model with experimental comparisons.
Findings
Theoretical decay widths agree with experimental data.
Predicted $ ext{phi}(1930)$ mass around 1930 MeV.
Main decay channels for $ ext{phi}(1930)$ include $KK^{ ext{*}}$ and $KK$.
Abstract
We study the phenomenology of two nonets of excited vector mesons, , , , and which (roughly) correspond to radially excited and to orbitally excited vector mesons. We evaluate the strong and radiative decays of these mesons into pseudoscalar and ground-state vector mesons by using an effective relativistic QFT model based on flavour symmetry. We compare decay widths and branching ratios with various experimental results listed in the PDG. An overall agreement of theory with experiment reinforces the standard quark-antiquark assignment of the resonances mentioned above. Predictions for not yet measured quantities are also made. In particular, we shall also make predictions for the not-yet discovered state of the nonet,…
