Sa Jun Park, Seok-Bae Yun

TL;DR
This paper proves the existence and uniqueness of solutions for a kinetic model describing polyatomic gases, advancing understanding of their mesoscopic behavior.
Contribution
It establishes the first rigorous mathematical results for the polyatomic ellipsoidal BGK model, a relaxation kinetic model.
Findings
Existence of mild solutions is proven.
Uniqueness of solutions is demonstrated.
The model accurately describes polyatomic gas evolution.
Abstract
We establish the existence and uniqueness of mild solutions for the polyatomic ellipsoidal BGK model, which is a relaxation type kinetic model describing the evolution of polyatomic gaseous system at the mesoscopic level.
