TL;DR
This paper reviews the theoretical and experimental status of light sector exotica, extends chiral models to heavy baryons, and interprets recent LHCb $ ext{Ω}_c^*$ resonances as potential exotic states.
Contribution
It introduces an extension of chiral models to heavy baryons and offers an interpretation of recent experimental resonances as exotic states.
Findings
Chiral models predict low-mass pentaquarks.
Exotic baryons are expected with one heavy quark.
LHCb $ ext{Ω}_c^*$ resonances may be exotic excitations.
Abstract
Models based on chiral symmetry predict pentaquarks that have relatively low masses. We briefly review both theoretical and experimental status of exotica in the light sector. Next, shall show how to extend chiral models to baryons with one heavy quark and show that one expects exotica also in this case. Finally, we interpret recently discovered by the LHCb collaboration five resonances in terms of regular and exotic excitations of the ground state .
