BV-BFV approach to General Relativity: Palatini-Cartan-Holst action
Alberto S. Cattaneo, Michele Schiavina

TL;DR
This paper explores how the Palatini--Cartan--Holst formulation of General Relativity requires additional boundary conditions within the BV-BFV framework to ensure consistency between bulk and boundary theories.
Contribution
It identifies necessary boundary conditions for the Palatini--Cartan--Holst formulation to produce a compatible boundary BFV theory.
Findings
Additional boundary requirements are essential for the BV-BFV consistency.
The work clarifies the boundary structure in tetrad formulations of gravity.
Provides a foundation for quantization approaches with boundaries in GR.
Abstract
We show that the Palatini--Cartan--Holst formulation of General Relativity in tetrad variables must be complemented with additional requirements on the fields when boundaries are taken into account for the associated BV theory to induce a compatible BFV theory on the boundary.
