Whittle Indexability in Egalitarian Processor Sharing Systems
Vivek S. Borkar, Sarath Pattathil

TL;DR
This paper establishes the Whittle indexability of egalitarian processor sharing systems, providing a numerical method for computing indices and supporting it with numerical experiments.
Contribution
It demonstrates the Whittle indexability of egalitarian processor sharing models and introduces a numerical scheme for index computation.
Findings
Proves Whittle indexability for the model
Provides a numerical scheme for index calculation
Supports findings with numerical experiments
Abstract
The egalitarian processor sharing model is viewed as a restless bandit and its Whittle indexability is established. A numerical scheme for computing the Whittle indices is provided, along with supporting numerical experiments.
