## TL;DR

This paper reveals that an Unruh-DeWitt detector interacting with a conformal field theory in higher dimensions exhibits a thermal distribution characteristic of anyons in 1+1 dimensions, highlighting a novel connection between quantum field theory and anyonic statistics.

## Contribution

It demonstrates that the detector's power spectrum follows an anyonic thermal distribution when coupled to a scalar primary operator in conformal field theory.

## Key findings

- Power spectrum obeys anyonic thermal distribution in 1+1 dimensions.
- Connects Unruh effect with anyonic statistics in conformal field theories.
- Highlights new quantum statistical behavior in detector-field interactions.

## Abstract

We point out that, when the Unruh-DeWitt detector couples to a scalar primary operator of $d$-dimensional conformal field theory, the detector's power spectrum generally obeys the thermal distribution for $(1+1)$-dimensional anyons.
