## TL;DR

This paper presents a determination of the photon parton distribution function (PDF) using high-mass Drell-Yan data from ATLAS at the LHC, employing the xFitter framework to analyze recent measurements at 8 TeV.

## Contribution

It introduces a novel extraction of the photon PDF from LHC data using the xFitter tool, providing updated insights into the photon content of the proton.

## Key findings

- Photon PDF determined from ATLAS high-mass Drell-Yan data
- Results improve understanding of proton structure at high energies
- Method demonstrates the effectiveness of xFitter in PDF analysis

## Abstract

In this contribution, we review the results of the recent paper "The photon PDF from high-mass Drell Yan data at the LHC" (arXiv:1701.08553), where a determination of the photon PDF from fits to recent ATLAS measurements of high-mass Drell-Yan dilepton production at centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV is presented.
