Refractive index of dense materials
Gilbert Zalczer

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that using the Lorentz-Lorenz transformation provides a more theoretical approach to modeling the refractive index of dense materials like metals, semiconductors, and insulators.
Contribution
It introduces a less empirical method for modeling the refractive index of dense materials through the Lorentz-Lorenz transformation.
Findings
Improved theoretical modeling of refractive index.
Application to metals, semiconductors, insulators.
Reduction in empirical assumptions.
Abstract
We show that applying the Lorentz-Lorenz transformation to the refractive index of metals, semiconductors and insulators allows for a less empirical modeling of this refractive index.
