## TL;DR

This paper introduces a novel soft interaction model for the Herwig Monte Carlo generator, improving the simulation of soft diffractive states and particle interactions, leading to better agreement with experimental minimum-bias data.

## Contribution

The paper develops a new soft interaction model for Herwig based on cluster hadronization and multiperipheral kinematics, enhancing simulation accuracy.

## Key findings

- Improved minimum-bias measurement results at various energies
- Enhanced modeling of soft diffractive states
- Better agreement with experimental data

## Abstract

We present a new model for soft interactions in the Monte Carlo event-generator Herwig. The soft diffractive final states are modeled on the basis of the cluster hadronization model and interactions between soft particles are modeled as multiple particle production with multiperipheral kinematics. We further present much improved results of mininum-bias measurements at different energies.
