TL;DR
The LZ Technical Design Report details the construction and specifications of the LZ dark matter detector, aiming for unprecedented sensitivity to WIMP interactions in underground physics research.
Contribution
This report presents the detailed design of the LZ detector, a new experiment with enhanced sensitivity to dark matter particles compared to previous detectors.
Findings
Designed to detect WIMP-nucleon interactions with cross section sensitivity of 3×10⁻⁴⁸ cm²
Provides a comprehensive technical blueprint for the LZ detector
Aims to advance dark matter detection capabilities
Abstract
In this Technical Design Report (TDR) we describe the LZ detector to be built at the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF). The LZ dark matter experiment is designed to achieve sensitivity to a WIMP-nucleon spin-independent cross section of three times ten to the negative forty-eighth square centimeters.
