## TL;DR

This paper investigates how transverse momentum and multiplicity correlations vary with rapidity, proposing an orthogonal polynomial expansion method to differentiate between particle production models.

## Contribution

It introduces a novel approach using orthogonal polynomial expansion to analyze rapidity dependence of correlations, aiding model discrimination.

## Key findings

- Orthogonal polynomial expansion effectively characterizes rapidity dependence.
- Method can distinguish between different particle production models.
- Potential to improve understanding of particle production mechanisms.

## Abstract

Following previous work [1], we propose to analyze the rapidity dependence of transverse momentum and transverse-momentum multiplicity correlations. We demonstrate that the orthogonal polynomial expansion of the latter has the potential to discriminate between models of particle production.
