Abstract
A numerical analysis of heat conduction through the cover plate of a heat pipe is carried out to determine the temperature of the working substance, average temperature of heating and cooling surfaces, heat spread in the transmitter, and the heat bypass through the cover plate. Analysis has been extended for the estimation of heat transfer requirements at the outer surface of the con- denser under different heat load conditions using Genetic Algorithm. This paper also presents the estimation of an average heat transfer coefficient for the boiling and condensation of the working substance inside the microgrooves corresponding to a known temperature of the heat source.
