## TL;DR

This paper analyzes the linear gain in a relativistic strophotron, demonstrating that resonance peaks persist after averaging over electron distributions and that nonresonant background contributions are minimal.

## Contribution

It provides a detailed analysis of the linear gain in a relativistic strophotron, highlighting the persistence of resonance peaks after averaging and the negligible impact of nonresonant background.

## Key findings

- Resonance peaks remain after averaging over electron distribution.
- Nonresonant background contributes negligibly to gain.
- Resonance peaks dominate the amplification spectrum.

## Abstract

The calculated linear gain in relativistic strophotron is averaged over electron distribution. It is shown, that after averaging resonance peaks remain in amplification spectrum. The nonresonant background gives only negligibly small contribution to the gain.
