## TL;DR

This paper develops a method to isolate and incorporate singularities in the Stermheimer function's Green's function solution for a layered electron gas, improving the accuracy of the model.

## Contribution

It introduces a technique to explicitly handle singularities in the Stermheimer function, enhancing the precision of solutions for layered electron gases.

## Key findings

- Exact contributions from singularities are incorporated into approximate solutions.
- The method improves the accuracy of Green's function calculations for layered electron gases.
- The approach facilitates better understanding of electron interactions in layered structures.

## Abstract

Isolating the singularity in the Green's function solution of the inhomogeneous, differential equation for the Stermheimer function of a layered electron gas, permits the construction of an approximate solution of the Stermheimer function which includes the exact contributions from its singularities.
