## TL;DR

This paper reports on ALICE measurements of heavy-flavour production in proton-proton and proton-lead collisions at the LHC, focusing on D meson yields, electron decays, and azimuthal correlations to understand particle production mechanisms.

## Contribution

It provides new experimental data on heavy-flavour production and correlations in pp and p-Pb collisions, comparing results with theoretical models.

## Key findings

- D meson yields increase with charged-particle multiplicity
- Electrons from heavy-flavour decays show multiplicity dependence
- Azimuthal correlations reveal insights into particle production dynamics

## Abstract

The D meson yields as a function of charged-particle multiplicity in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV and in p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}=5.02$ TeV are presented. The measurement of the yields of electrons from heavy-flavour hadron decays as a function of charged-particle multiplicity in p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}=5.02$ TeV are shown as well. The measurement of azimuthal correlations of prompt D mesons and charged hadrons in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV and in p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}=5.02$ TeV are also presented. The results are compared with expectations from models.
