Analysis of right-handed Majorana neutrino mass in an $SU(4) \times SU(2)_{L} \times SU(2)_{R}$ Pati--Salam model with democratic texture
Masaki J. S. Yang

TL;DR
This paper investigates the structure of right-handed Majorana neutrino masses within an $SU(4) imes SU(2)_L imes SU(2)_R$ Pati-Salam model with democratic textures, analyzing implications for neutrino mass generation and leptogenesis.
Contribution
It reconstructs the right-handed neutrino mass matrix using a specific flavor symmetry breaking scheme and explores the textures and fine-tuning needed for successful leptogenesis.
Findings
The right-handed neutrino mass matrix exhibits a waterfall texture.
Type-I seesaw with Yukawa unification requires fine-tuning.
Lightest right-handed neutrino mass is too small for thermal leptogenesis.
Abstract
In this paper, we attempt to build an unified model with democratic texture, that have some unification between and . Since the flavor symmetry is chiral, the unified gauge group is assumed to be Pati-Salam type . The flavor symmetry breaking scheme is considered to be . In this picture, the four-zero texture is desirable for realistic mass and mixings. This texture is realized by a specific representation for the second breaking of the flavor symmetry. Assuming only renormalizable Yukawa interactions, type-I seesaw mechanism, and neglecting phases for simplicity, the right-handed neutrino mass matrix can be reconstructed from low energy input values. Numerical analysis shows that the texture of basically…
