Chengying Bao, Yi Xuan, Daniel E. Leaird, Minghao Qi, and Andrew M., Weiner

TL;DR
This paper studies how thermal effects influence soliton formation in silicon-nitride microresonators, revealing spontaneous formation routes and variability in soliton stability.
Contribution
It introduces an analysis of thermal effects on soliton dynamics, highlighting spontaneous formation and stability variability in microresonators.
Findings
Thermal effects cause variability in soliton survival.
Spontaneous routes to soliton formation are observed.
Soliton annihilation and survival depend on thermal conditions.
Abstract
We investigate soliton generation dynamics with the influence of thermal effects. Either soliton annihilation or survival can occur in different trials with the same tuning method, and a spontaneous route to soliton formation is observed.
