TL;DR
This paper combines event-by-event viscous hydrodynamics with heavy quark energy loss models to analyze flow harmonics and nuclear modification factors of heavy mesons in PbPb collisions, revealing significant bottom quark flow at high transverse momentum.
Contribution
It introduces a novel approach integrating viscous hydrodynamics with heavy quark energy loss to study heavy meson flow harmonics and nuclear modification factors.
Findings
Bottom quarks can flow as much as charm quarks in the 8-30 GeV $p_T$ range.
Heavy flavor flow cumulants $v_2 extbackslash{2}$, $v_3 extbackslash{2}$, and $v_2 extbackslash{4}$ are computed.
Results suggest comparable flow behavior between bottom and charm quarks at high $p_T$.
Abstract
Event-by-event viscous hydrodynamics is combined with heavy quark energy loss models to compute heavy flavor flow cumulants , , and as well as the nuclear modification factors of and mesons in PbPb collisions at 2.76 TeV. Our results indicate that bottom quarks can flow as much as charm quarks in the range 8--30 GeV.
