Electron Dynamics in Relativistic Strophotron
Karen Ivanyan

TL;DR
This paper investigates the motion of relativistic electrons in a strophotron, revealing harmonic oscillations transversely and complex behavior longitudinally, through derived equations of motion.
Contribution
It provides a detailed analysis of electron trajectories in a relativistic strophotron, including the derivation of equations of motion and characterization of electron oscillations.
Findings
Electrons oscillate harmonically in the transverse direction.
Electrons exhibit complex motion in the longitudinal direction.
Equations of motion for electrons in the strophotron are derived.
Abstract
Relativistic strophotron is a system in which fast electrons move along a potential trough produced by quadrupole electric lenses. Equations of motion in the strophotron field are investigated and electron trajectories are found. It is shown, that electrons are harmonically oscillating in transverse direction and do complex motion in longitudinal direction.
