TL;DR
This paper reports the first observation of the decay ^- p K^-K^- with high significance, providing new measurements of branching fractions and evidence for related decay modes using LHCb data.
Contribution
The study presents the first observation of the ^- p K^-K^- decay and measures its branching fraction relative to other decay channels, advancing understanding of ^- baryon decays.
Findings
^- p K^-K^- decay observed with 8.7 sigma significance
Evidence found for ^- p K^- decay at 3.4 sigma
Branching fractions measured relative to normalization channels
Abstract
Decays of the and baryons to the charmless final states , where denotes a kaon or pion, are searched for with the LHCb detector. The analysis is based on a sample of proton-proton collision data collected at centre-of-mass energies and , corresponding to an integrated luminosity of . The decay is observed with a significance of standard deviations, and evidence at the level of standard deviations is found for the decay. Results are reported, relative to the normalisation channel, for the products of branching fractions and -hadron production fractions. The branching fractions of and relative to decays are also measured.
