TL;DR
This paper investigates the sum rules of double Gamow-Teller excitations using the double spin-isospin operator, revealing dominant transition strengths in 2+ states and discussing isospin selection rules and extraction methods for transition strengths.
Contribution
It provides a detailed analysis of the sum rules for DGT excitations and discusses isospin selection and extraction of transition strengths in specific nuclear states.
Findings
2+ states dominate DGT transition strength
0+ states are weak except in T=1 nuclei
Method to extract unit cross section for DGT transitions
Abstract
We study the sum rules of double Gamow-Teller (DGT) excitations through double spin-isospin operator . In general, states in the granddaughter nuclei have dominant transition strength in DGT excitations and states are weak, except in mother nuclei in which strength is competitive with 2 strength. The isospin selection of DGT is also discussed among 5 possible isospin states in granddaughter nuclei. A possibility to extract the unit cross section for the DGT transition strength is pointed out in the excitation of double isobaric analog state (DIAS) in nuclei.
