Comment on "AdS nonlinear instability: moving beyond spherical symmetry" [Class. Quantum Grav. 33 23LT01 (2016)]
Andrzej Rostworowski

TL;DR
This paper discusses how considering the spectrum degeneracy of linear perturbations in Anti-de Sitter space reveals the existence of regular, time-periodic solutions called geons, expanding understanding beyond spherical symmetry.
Contribution
It demonstrates that degeneracy in the linear spectrum leads to new, regular, time-periodic solutions bifurcating from each eigenfrequency in AdS space.
Findings
Existence of geons bifurcating from each linear eigenfrequency
Proper spectrum degeneracy consideration is crucial for these solutions
Geons are globally regular and asymptotically AdS
Abstract
We argue that if the degeneracy of the spectrum of linear perturbations of AdS is properly taken into account, there are globally regular, time-periodic, asymptotically AdS solutions (geons) bifurcating from each linear eigenfrequency of AdS.
