Vahid Aref, Son T. Le, Henning Buelow

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates a fully nonlinear spectrum modulated optical transmission system that significantly increases the nonlinear threshold, enabling higher data rates in highly nonlinear regimes.
Contribution
It introduces the first fully nonlinear-spectrum modulated system operating in the highly nonlinear regime, achieving a 3 dB increase in nonlinear threshold through nonlinear multiplexing.
Findings
3 dB increase in nonlinear threshold
Successful implementation of fully nonlinear spectrum modulation
Enhanced data transmission in highly nonlinear optical regimes
Abstract
We report a 3 dB increase in the nonlinear threshold of a 64*0.5Gbaud 16-QAM continuous-nonlinear-spectrum modulated signal by nonlinear multiplexing with QPSK modulated multi-solitons, showing the first ever fully nonlinear-spectrum modulated system in the highly nonlinear regime.
