On a connection between layer-adapted exponentially graded and S-type meshes
Sebastian Franz, Christos Xenophontos

TL;DR
This paper explores the relationship between exponentially graded and S-type meshes used in solving singularly perturbed problems, leading to a more general class of layer-adapted meshes.
Contribution
It establishes a connection between two mesh types and introduces a generalized class of layer-adapted meshes for improved numerical analysis.
Findings
Identifies a link between exponentially graded and S-type meshes.
Proposes a more flexible class of layer-adapted meshes.
Enhances understanding of mesh design for singular perturbations.
Abstract
In this short note we analyse a connection between the exponentially graded and the class of S-type meshes for singularly perturbed problems. As a by-product we obtain a slightly modified and more general class of layer-adapted meshes.
